Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Music – How I Found My Father

Connecting the Dots with Erica Parker

Dementia advances slowly. It begins with strange little happenings that tickle the back of your mind as unlike your loved one and then after some time blow into large things that little by little take your loved one away so that the person who remains is no longer the person you’ve always known. They become silent watchers of hours and hours of TV, losing memories and connections with those they love most. This is Ms. Parker’s story of using music to connect with her father again; how he was brought back to life and memories by his daughter and her cello.
